Leave Tirana by 9, reach Belsh by 10:30, and you have time for two lakes, an olive mill, and a fish lunch before driving back by dark. This is the hour-by-hour version that actually fits into a single day.
The drive
Belsh is about 90 minutes from Tirana on the road through Elbasan. If you leave the city by 9, you are on the plateau by half past ten with the whole day ahead of you.
Self-driving is straightforward; the last stretch onto the plateau is paved. If you would rather not drive, a fixed-price transfer costs less stress and lets everyone look out the window.
A day that fits
Start at the town lake in Belsh to get your bearings — the promenade, a coffee, the shape of the place. Then head out to Merhoja, the deep clear lake south of town, for a swim if it is warm.
Break for a fish lunch over the water, visit a working olive mill in the afternoon, and finish at Seferan, with the Aphrodite statue on its shore, before the light goes. You will be back in Tirana for dinner.
